Thankfulness

Several friends have been posting daily “what I’m thankful for” posts of various social media outlets.  I’ve skipped it thus far, but here it is today.

1.  I’m thankful that I have the most compassionate person I’ve ever met as my husband.  My J is my anchor and my rock.  He is a super-human in his ability to care for his family.

2.  I’m thankful for being able to live close to Carrollton.

3.  I’m thankful for my church family.

4.  I’m thankful for my incredibly handsome, hilarious Rock Steady.

5.  I’m thankful for Be-Bop, who will always be my baby boy.

6.  I’m thankful for my parents, who have always shown me that they love me.  I love them, too.

7.  I’m thankful to be living in 2011, with the diseases I’ve dealt with.  I’m thankful for my decent health.

8.  I’m thankful for wonderful in-laws.

9.  I’m thankful to still have my grandmother.  She’s teaching me how to grow old gracefully.

10.  I’m thankful to have an awesome extended family on all sides.

11.  I’m thankful for my incredible friends, who’ve proven they’ll stand by me through whatever.

12.  I’m thankful for my mental health treatment team, who are helping me make my quality of life much, much better.

13.  I’m thankful for God.

14.  I’m thankful for all my life experiences thus far.  They’ve made me who I am today.

15.  I’m thankful for St. Simons Island, GA.

16.  I’m thankful for my pets, who make life in our house interesting all the time.

17.  I’m thankful that Be-Bop and Rock Steady will always have each other.  They’re a joy to watch together.

18.  I’m thankful to live in a place where I can easily get to the mountains or to the beach, just by getting in the car and driving for a few hours.

19.  I’m thankful for the neighborhood we live in.

20.  I’m thankful that I had the ability to have children.

21.  I’m thankful for apple juice.  Where would Rock Steady be if he couldn’t get his apple juice fix daily?

22.  I’m thankful for the fantastic doctors that have helped Be-Bop with his eyes, both when he was 1 1/2 and now that he’s 5.

23.  I’m thankful for my children’s laughter, especially when they’re laughing together.  Listening to it is one of those things that’s truly heaven here on earth for me.

24.  I’m thankful that I’m slowly stopping being mad at God and the world for all the bad things that have happened in my life.  I’m thankful for my developing attitude of thankfulness.
