I needed to refuel this morning…Jared took the boys to school and I slept in. It was relatively wonderful. But sleep wasn’t enough; I craved some artistic expression. Since the move, I was in a good routine for the first couple of weeks but this last month or so has really fallen off, with not journaling or doing something else artsy to get my brain in order to function with the outside world.
Today, it was my dear little camera that helped out. Here is some of what I came up with:
Above is a blanket I’ve been crocheting since before Christmas.
This is Jared’s chess set, the one that I gave him for our wedding. It took a beating when Porter was around 22-23 months old and we let him play with the pieces:
This is a drawer pull on the china cabinet:
This is what you see when you look out our kitchen window:
I was going for the reflection bouncing off my china milk service with the next one:
Now, I’m not sure I feel quite like I’m ready to battle the day (which is what it does indeed feel like today), but at least I’ve gotten some of my kind of “work” done. Now to at least bask in a little domesticity (that means, time to wash the dishes).
